A research team is on an expedition to look for a rare hermaphrodite creature, a leech, in a remote area. During the search for the bloodsucker in the dark, winding cave, friction arises between those present, which is sometimes based on stereotypical gender attributions and leads to escalation. Despite the disagreements, the researchers have to find a way to leave the cave together and get back to freedom.
The stage design develops from 3 x hanging curtains in a semi transparent stretch material, serving as flexible but constant stage elements. A moldable sand bag is attached in the bottom of each curtain, offering a space in constant change, communicating and highlighting the story through the bodily interaction. In the final scene, actors, costume and stage all merge into one and same: a crawling leech. From inside the creature we get reports from the characters through a live camera, streamed and projected on the base curtains.
